TERMS & CONDITIONS
We have tried to make these Terms and Conditions easy to read and understand. When we state ‘us’ or ‘we’ we mean Dan Waite Electrical, when we state ‘you’ we mean ‘the customer’.
We reserve the right to refuse or decline work at our discretion. Where the we agree to carry out works for the Customer those works shall be undertaken by the designated operative of Us and at our absolute discretion.
When we provide you with an Estimate: -
Where a written estimate has been supplied to the Customer the total charge to the Customer referred to in the estimate may have a 10% ‘+’ or ‘-’ variation on the given price. This may also be revised in the following circumstances: —
i. if after submission of the estimate the Customer instructs the Us (whether orally or in writing) to carry out additional works not referred to in the estimate.
ii. if after submission of the estimate there is an increase in the price of materials
iii. if after submission of the estimate it is discovered that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the estimate was prepared
iv. if after submission of the estimate it is discovered that there was a manifest error when the estimate was prepared.
When we work subject to our Hourly Rate Work: -
The total charge to the Customer shall consist of the cost of materials supplied by Us & the amount of time spent by the Us in carrying out works (including all reasonable time spent in obtaining un-stocked materials) charged in accordance with the Our current hourly rates.
Our Travel time to get to you: -
For CALL OUTS – this will incur a charge of £70 +VAT (including ½ hour travel time to and from the installation) and a rate of £35.00 +VAT per hour there after. Please contact us for upto date fees for callouts outside of work hours (1700-0800). On longer projects i.e.; where a whole days’ labour is booked in, or more. Works are still being carried out on “day rate”, but travel is only chargeable one way, (On priced installation projects we include travel in the Estimate price). Fuel costs - £0.46 +VAT per mile towards cost of fuel. On priced installation projects we include fuel costs in the Estimate price.
We guarantee our work: -
Labour supplied by us carries a 12- month guarantee from date of invoice.
Materials supplied by us carry a 12-month guarantee for materials, from date of purchase from the supplier.
Materials not supplied by us will not be covered by any guarantee by us and in the event of a product failure the purchaser will need to acquire a new product at his/her cost. Any inspection etc. by us will be chargeable, if removal and installation is required by us then callout fees/costs then this will also be chargeable.
The Guarantee will become null & void if the work/appliance completed/supplied by the Us is:
(a) Subject to misuse or negligence.
(b) Repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than employed/subcontracted by Us. We will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, materials supplied by the Customer & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.
Payment Terms: -
Invoices are due for payment immediately upon delivery to the Customer. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or by BACs (Please quote invoice reference). All materials supplied by us shall remain our property until payment is received in full. In the event payment is not received within 21 days of the date of the invoice, we will charge £7.50 +VAT per reminder letter issued to cover administration costs. Any part of that invoice which remains unpaid shall carry interest at the rate of 4% per over the base rate until payment in full is received by the Company.
If project is running over 1 months between stages then interim payment will be required, which will be the amount to cover works and materials installed up to that date.
If you are unhappy with the work: -
If, in the unlikely event, you are not wholly satisfied or a defect should occur with the work, then you must give us notice in writing within 12 months of the invoice date, and give us and our insurers the opportunity to both inspecting the works and carrying out any necessary remedial works, if appropriate. You accept that if you fail to notify us in this manner then we will not be liable for any defects in the works carried out.
Redundant Materials
Any redundant or replaced materials, e.g. consumer unit replacement, unless stated otherwise, disposal is your responsibility. If you wish us to deal with the disposal of redundant materials, then this will incur a charge which we will provide you with at the time of quotation.
